Mobility Coach
Mobility Coach Passport to Self-Sufficiency™
Mobility Coaching is an innovative approach designed to assess low-income families on their journey toward improved education, career mobility, and economic independence. Mobility Coaching combines participant-driven supportive services and coaching, peer support and learning, and cash incentives which lead to families obtaining self-sufficient wages and assets.
This includes:
- Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to conduct individual and group coaching sessions with program participants.
- Complete Passport to Self-Sufficiency assessment tools with participants and utilize tools set goals and coach in the PTS 5 Domains.
- Maintain regular contact with participants in accordance with Passport to Self-Sufficiency™ parameters
- Maintain records and files to document participants' progress in accordance with agency standards, departmental procedures, and specified outcome measures
- Collaborate with participants' personal and professional networks to effectively support each participant
- Refer families to relevant and specific community services and organizations
- Assist participants through problem solving, conflict resolution, relationship building, and mediation as needed.
Basic knowledge of principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature of strengths-based and participant-driven program models.
- Strong knowledge and skill of Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity work software.
- Knowledge of principles of community organizing, service coordination, and advocacy to initiate/coordinate service delivery and follow-up services.
- Basic knowledge of the scope and activities of public and private health, social service, advocacy, educational, and workforce development agencies.
- Knowledge of workforce development, economic literacy, education, and career development resources.
- Skill in facilitating supporting job-readiness, career programs, and activities, including networking with transitional and long-term employers.
- Excellent group facilitation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with participants to maximize self-determination.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment background checks.
Work experience and/or educational requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human services related field preferred not required
- At least two years professional experience in human services, case management, counseling, etc.
- Basic knowledge of engagement strategies (i.e. trauma informed care, generational poverty, and whole family engagement)
- Data entry experience required
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
- Group facilitation skills preferred.
- Reliable transportation
- Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Participant-Facing
Mobility Coach activities include but are not limited to, internal outreach and recruitment, assisting with goal setting, coaching in self-sufficiency skills, referral to community resources, facilitation of groups and workshops, data management, and reporting, and the delivery of services consistent with agency objectives and standards.
Network and Community-Facing:
- Represent the agency to key stakeholders and partners in the community.
- Steward relationships with vendors and partners.
Agency and Team-Facing:
- Facilitate communication and coordination among shifts.
- Ownership of personal and professional development.
- Openness to learning and the exchange of knowledge.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
