Overview
Lake Huron Medical Center is a 139-bed community hospital that provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient health care services to residents of St. Clair and Sanilac counties including emergency services, primary stroke center, cancer care, surgical services, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, pulmonary rehabilitation, and specialized diabetes programs.

Responsibilities
The Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Nursing Officer (CAO/CNO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for providing strategic, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for the hospital. Reporting directly to the Regional CEO, the CAO/CNO oversees day-to-day hospital operations while ensuring excellence in patient care delivery, nursing practice, operational performance, quality outcomes, financial stewardship, workforce engagement, and regulatory compliance.
The CAO/CNO collaborates with physicians, department leaders, medical staff, and community stakeholders to align organizational goals with operational execution and clinical excellence. This role serves as the senior nursing executive and administrative leader responsible for developing a culture of accountability, safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in MI required.
2. Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required.
3. Minimum of three {3}years of successful healthcare administration experience in an acute care setting.
4. Progressive senior healthcare leadership experience required; prior experience as CNO, CEO, COO, CAO, or equivalent strongly preferred.
5. Demonstrated operational leadership experience including hospital performance improvement and strategic execution.
6. Proven success in physician collaboration and leadership development.
7. Demonstrated experience with recruitment, retention, and talent development.
8. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
9. Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
10. Demonstrated commitment to community engagement and service excellence.
