Controls Service Engineer

Job Title: Controls Service EngineerJob Description The Controls Service Engineer will provide remote technical support for automated material handling systems, with a focus on DLN Controls solutions. The role involves acting as the primary customer interface for troubleshooting and resolving PLC automation issues. Responsibilities + Handle remote support calls and resolve system errors. + Diagnose issues via VPN and remote tools; maintain accurate service records. + Troubleshoot PLC programs (Ladder, STL, SCL, FBD) and electrical circuits. + Support system commissioning and maintain PLC code version control. + Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams. + Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends; travel up to 25%. Essential Skills + Bachelor's in Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent experience. + Strong knowledge of PLC programming, including RSLogix. + Understanding of electrical schematics, networking, and communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP). + Experience in customer service. + Remote access and support experience. + Proficiency with computers. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Material handling knowledge is a plus. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, onsite at DLN with one day remote. The engineer will be on call every other weekend alongside another software engineer. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wyoming, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
