Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QC Chemist to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality control within a newly built laboratory. The role involves conducting quality control analysis on products, raw materials, and supporting inter-departmental projects. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm, with occasional overtime and possible Saturday work.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC analysis of products, raw materials, and participate in special inter-department projects as required.

• Analyze, approve or reject, and adjust products and raw materials in accordance with corporate QC specifications.

• Reexamine retained product samples when defects are suspected.

• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to ensure quality standards.

• Utilize standard laboratory equipment and instruments, including titrations, viscosity testing, pH testing, ICP, AA, and HPLC.

• Work with Manufacturing and Purchasing to maintain high quality standards for raw materials and their sources.

• Maintain accurate records of test results and enter them into computer systems.

• Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties.

• Execute other general lab duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or possibly Biology for those interested in production chemistry work.

• At least 1 year of hands-on lab experience, including titrations, pH testing, and viscosity (experience can be from college).

• Basic computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.

• A motivated and proactive attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with ICP, AA, IFTR, and HPLC gained in school.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ferndale, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
