*Job Summary*
Our Traverse City law firm is seeking a highly organized and professional *Paralegal *or *legal assistant* to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, organizing complex case files, and maintaining strong client communication. Knowledge of personal injury law, civil litigation, and trial preparation is highly beneficial.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Organize, manage, and maintain detailed client case files and discovery materials
* Draft, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and trial exhibits
* Perform legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and findings for attorney review
* Collect, review, and analyze documents including medical records, police reports, and other evidence
* Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, demonstrating professional communication and strong phone etiquette
* Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
* Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and supporting documentation for hearings and trials
* Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys throughout the case lifecycle

*Qualifications:*

* Prior experience as a *Paralegal* in a law firm setting (personal injury or civil litigation preferred)
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing professionalism
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment
