Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Radiation Oncology
Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) specializing in Radiation Oncology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services in the field of radiation oncology. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of various healthcare projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse cases and make a significant impact in the medical field.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient consultations to assess medical history and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Administering radiation therapy to patients according to established protocols.
- Monitoring and evaluating patient response to treatment and adjusting plans as needed.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and treatment strategies.
- Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment procedures and potential side effects.
- Documenting patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
- Participating in departmental meetings, case reviews, and continuing education activities.
- Adhering to all regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
Requirements:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and valid MD license.
- Board certification in Radiation Oncology.
- Demonstrated experience in providing radiation therapy treatments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in Radiation Oncology.
- Flexibility to adapt to different work settings and patient populations.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-4p
24-hour call, 1:2 rotation
Setting: Outpatient
Daily Volume: 10-15 patients
Required Procedures: Conventional radiotherapy, 3D radiotherapy, 3D-CRT, IGRT, IMRT, SBRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy
Support Staff: Additional radiation oncologist, APP
EMR: Aria & Epic
Must be board-certified
