Prep Cook
The Opportunity
Slows Bar BQ is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality ingredients and supporting the kitchen in delivering excellent food to our guests. This position allows you to hone your culinary skills in a fast-paced environment while being part of a respected brand known for its BBQ.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of salads sides sauces and other items according to recipes and standards.
- Perform basic cooking tasks such as chopping mixing and cooking to ensure all ingredients are ready for service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and prep areas.
- Ensure all food items are stored properly and labeled in accordance with health regulations.
- Participate in inventory management by reporting stock needs and helping keep track of supplies.
- Understand and adhere to health and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Assist the team in ensuring that all food safety practices are followed.
- Support other kitchen staff during meal preparation and service as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repeated tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and move heavy items as needed.
- Comfort working in a hot and typically busy kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts weekends and holidays as required.
