Project Overview:
Bechtel's focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational projects. Bechtel's renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for the Sunfish 2 project, a 360MW DC solar plant in Calhoun County, Michigan.
Job Summary:
An Environmental Coordinator helps develop and execute the environmental component of an?ES&H program.?This involves?administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, and regulatory and Bechtel requirements. The position requires practical application of best management practices for managing environmental aspects of a project or facility. #LI-VB1
Major Responsibilities:

Provides assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to include aiding in compliance with Bechtel's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments

Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities

Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions

Performs data analysis to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement

Helps identify and coordinate any unique software systems used by ES&H personnel

Leads risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to moderately complex ES&H issues

Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention

Assists with incident notifications, investigations, and reporting

Recommends improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential

Participates in and supports employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs

Coordinates ES&H recognition programs

Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines
Education and Experience Requirements:
-
Typically a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-
Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.?

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing abilities.
-
Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
-
Valid driver's license.
-
Knowledge of environmental management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies.

Knowledge of environmental regulations and applicable agencies' permitting processes and responsibilities.

Knowledge of engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.?
