Job Purpose
Art Without Limits is seeking an energetic and creative Art Sales Manager to lead a dynamic art program for adults with developmental disabilities. This role combines art instruction, sales, marketing, community engagement, and hands-on participant support to help artists develop their talents, build confidence, and showcase their work through exhibitions, events, and art sales.
The ideal candidate is a creative leader who enjoys working directly with participants, fostering an inclusive environment, and finding innovative ways to connect art with the community. Direct experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
What You'll Do
Creative Program Leadership
- Design and deliver engaging, person-centered art experiences that inspire creativity, self-expression, and skill development.
- Develop and continuously enhance an innovative art curriculum that reflects participant interests, abilities, and artistic goals.
- Introduce a variety of artistic mediums, techniques, and creative opportunities that encourage exploration and growth.
Participant Engagement & Support
- Work directly alongside adults with developmental disabilities, providing individualized instruction, encouragement, and mentorship.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and empowering studio environment where every artist can thrive.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants and their families while celebrating artistic achievements and personal growth.
- Support artists in developing confidence, independence, and pride in their creative work.
Art Sales & Community Outreach
- Lead efforts to market and sell participant artwork through community events, exhibitions, galleries, and online platforms.
- Research, secure, and coordinate participation in art fairs, festivals, vendor markets, and community showcases.
- Plan and execute engaging art shows and special events that highlight participant talent and strengthen community connections.
- Cultivate relationships with community partners, local businesses, artists, and organizations to expand opportunities for artists and program growth.
Marketing & Brand Development
- Manage social media platforms and create compelling content that celebrates artists, promotes events, and increases community engagement.
- Develop creative marketing campaigns that elevate the visibility of the Art Without Limits program and drive artwork sales.
- Capture and share inspiring participant stories and artistic accomplishments.
Program Operations & Growth
- Manage program budgets, monitor expenses, and strategically allocate resources to maximize impact and sustainability.
- Purchase and maintain art supplies, materials, and equipment needed for successful program delivery.
- Track program outcomes, sales performance, and participant engagement while identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Contribute new ideas, creative initiatives, and program enhancements that strengthen the participant experience and support organizational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in art, art education, special education, human services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in art sales management or similar role
- Experience teaching or facilitating art activities, preferably with adults or individuals with disabilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to balance creative and administrative tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and meet revenue goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, and community partners.
- Creative thinker with a passion for inclusion, accessibility, and community engagement through the arts.
- Proficient in social media management and basic marketing practices.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
Casual business attire with a focus on neat, appropriate clothing that is considered acceptable by the public. Travel may be required. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for special events or shows.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to assist individuals walking, standing, and sitting when necessary. Must be able to push a wheelchair on multiple different terrains. Must be able to bend down and assist participants when needed.
