Entry Level Machine Builder (Cabinet / Electrical / Refrigeration)

- Eager to learn by watching other custom products team members and doing hands on applications.
- Prepared to acquire knowledge and experience through verbal communication from custom products team member during on the job training.
- Willing and able to learn how to provide ongoing communications with engineering, marketing, purchasing and other departments.
- Able to learn how to document notes to other departments within the company regarding the systems.
- Train to perform basic tasks in either electrical, weld or refrigeration, with the capability to absorb advance task in same skill set.
- Learn to read basic blueprints and/or schematics to begin to visualize how the job will go together and acquire the ability to advance those skills.
- Each Machine Builder will be training to gain knowledge and experience about the test chamber industry in one of the following areas with guidance from custom products team members:
Cabinet:
- Capable to learn and understand Thermotron Cabinet Workmanship Standards.
- Able to TIG weld to an acceptable level required by Thermotron Standards.
- Able to learn how to obtain print package, review and decipher basic information.
- Able to learn how to analyze parts delivered from other areas of the company to determine their appropriateness.
- Acquire the knowledge to interpret schematics from print package and with the guidance from the custom products team member design mechanical systems as necessary.
- Learn to properly construct liner, fit liner to framing and insulate cabinet.
- Acquire the skills to accurately fit and install – baffles, gaskets, doors, ports and other accessories.
- Absorb the knowledge/experience to make and install other mechanical assemblies as required.
- Gain the knowledge/experience to locate parts and components, properly install using the following methods – drill and tap, screws, rivet, weld and Heli-arc weld.
- Competent to clean cabinet according to acid cleaning procedures.
Refrigeration:
- Capable to learn and understand Thermotron Refrigeration Standards Manual, along with proper piping standards.
- Ability to braze/solder and perform simple bends to an acceptable level required by Thermotron Standards.
- Able to learn how to obtain print package, review and decipher basic information.
- Able to learn how to analyze parts delivered from other areas of the company to determine their appropriateness.
- Capable to mount components in frame per prints and instructions from custom product team members.
- Learn how to prepare coil for installation.
- Ability to construct valve panel through the guidance from custom product team members.
- Competent to follow directions from custom products team member to configure piping system, solder and simple bends.
- Attain the knowledge/experience to properly leak check refrigeration systems according to established procedures.
Electrical:
- Capable to learn and understand Thermotron Electrical Standards Manual.
- Ability to properly strip wire and crimp terminations to an acceptable level required by Thermotron Standards.
- Able to learn how to obtain print package, review and decipher basic information.
- Able to learn how to analyze parts delivered from other areas of the company to determine their appropriateness.
- Ability to obtain knowledge on CE and UL electrical codes from Electrical Standards Manual and on the job training.
- Competent to learn how to calculate wire size, conduit fill and box fill with the guidance of custom products team members using sizing charts provided.
- Capable to learn how too accurately layout, label and wire basic electrical panels, neatly, through the instructions from custom products team members.
- Ability to properly mount components by lifting, drilling and tapping to securing in place.
- Learn to install interconnect electrical system between machine sections and chamber cabinet.
