The Organic Produce Team Lead provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and provides the quality products that Adams is known for. This means fulfilling customer requests, ensuring that the organic produce department operates smoothly by ordering produce, assigning and delegating tasks, and being the final line for quality control in the department.

Job Description
»Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer-friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product expertise and assisting customers with their questions
»Greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams
»Order organic produce and other items to stock the organic section of the department
»Be responsible for displays, quality, and stocking, and pricing of all organics
»Set prices for all organic products with department manager’s approval
»Set or adjust prices according to product quality
»Demonstrate expertise of product in order to assist customers and help associates; be aware of sale items and pricing
»Delegate work to fellow employees to maintain smooth and efficient organic section
»Direct associates in completing tasks and make sure assigned tasks are completed
»Be responsible for training new associates
»Prepare organic products for the sales floor, including trimming, wrapping and pricing
»Cut organic fruit and vegetables according to department needs
»Be responsible for maintaining proper levels of stock in the organic section to ensure freshness, quality and availcapability
»Rotate all products to ensure freshness and all times and educate staff on the importance of product rotation and how to handle and display products properly
»Assist with everyday tasks in the general produce department as needed
»Be expertiseable of all products, department protocols, and safety procedures
»Be responsible for making sure organic cases and displays are kept full and organized with correct signage
»Rotate organic products to keep older product in front and stock cases and displays, making sure product is correctly labeled and there are no empty spaces
»Regularly check all organic products for quality
»Receive and put away deliveries; check organic products arriving for quality
»Take customer orders both in person and on the phone
»Be aware of safety procedures and be responsible for maintaining an employee and customer-safe department
»Be the final line for quality control: look for packaging issues, sell-by dates, and be vigilant about quality and presentation of all products put out for sale
»Be responsible for ensuring that weekly and everyday cleaning tasks are completed
»Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor, cases, coolers, preparation and production areas
»When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand
Physical Requirements
»Consistently lift and move 50 pounds
»Stand for the duration of the shift
»Climb up and down a stepstool, stepladder, and ladder
»Use hands, wrists, fingers and arms for duration of shift
»Safely operate and use knives, buffalo chopper, and other equipment necessary to run the department
»Use the compactor and cardboard crusher for disposing of garbage and recycling
Qualifications
»Be food safety certified
»Be at least 18 years old
»Communicate clearly with customers and co-workers
»Employees are our internal customers; treat them with the same courtesy and respect as our external customers
»Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needs
»Must be able to work scheduled shift
»Follow all department safety policies and procedures
»Be able to concentrate on task at hand in order to avoid injury and waste of product
»Be expertiseable about Adam product – recommend ideas to customers by exploring customer preferences and advocating Adams product
