Job Description - Summary / Objective
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the company and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role manages core accounting functions including the monthly close process, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and accruals. In this capacity, the Accounting Manager serves as the primary point of

contact for accounting-related matters, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure needs are met, issues are resolved, and opportunities for process improvement and value creation are identified. The Accounting Manager partners with leadership to support informed financial decision-making while maintaining strong internal controls and adherence to company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Essential Functions

1. Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll coordination.

2. Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
3. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. 4. Manage monthly and yearly accruals and ensure proper expense recognition.

5. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances as needed.
6. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes and monitor departmental performance against budget.

7. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
8. Act as a key user for the company’s ERP system and related accounting applications.
9. Support cash management activities including bank reconciliations, ACH processing, and cash flow monitoring.
10. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers as required.
11. Provide financial analysis and reporting to management to support business decisions.
12. Train, mentor, and support accounting staff, promoting professional development and strong performance.
13. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting procedures.
14. Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
3. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization.
5. Demonstrated experience managing monthly close processes and accrual accounting.
6. Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial documents and reports.
2. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from management and external partners.
3. Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.



Compensation
1. $75,000 - $85,000 base salary.
2. Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the midpoint of the salary range.
3. B&L provides full pay range so candidates can consider their growth potential.
