Responsibilities
- Reviewing and responding to legal documents including pleadings, EEOC and similar claims, contracts, judgements, leases, trust agreements and assignments
- Reviewing, monitoring and responding to subpoenas and other discovery requests
- Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, legal articles and other relevant informational sources
- Handling guideline issues that have legal nuances, including trusts, leases, and stock compensation issues
- Preparing written correspondence with outside counsel and other third-parties, including responses to complaints
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Editing legal documents for accuracy
- Providing training to Paralegals on the Legal/Compliance team
- Assisting with issues related to MERS, servicing, marketing reviews, settlement agent oversight, title claims and other title related issues
- Supporting with licensing issues and regulatory filings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate
- Have experience performing legal research
- Have knowledge of the litigation and subpoena process
- Have knowledge of the contracting process and standard elements of a contract
- Have a commitment to continuous business improvement
- Title or employment law experience is a plus
- Onsite attendance required
