This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Work On
Maintenance of product level in filler.
Ensure proper operating parameters for filler, seamer, and can washer.
Perform preventative maintenance on filler and seamer.
Ensure commodities are released prior to usage.
Perform visual inspection.
Ensure proper cleaning methods are used during a wash job.
Maintain inventory counts of commodities used during each batch.
Set up equipment according to packing requirements and adjust as necessary during production.
Load commodities into equipment.
Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and work stations.
Perform and document Quality checks and preventative maintenance.
You will be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read gauges and instruments
- Ability to prepare simple reports and follow routine machine operations
- Ability to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, decimals, divide, fractions, proportions)
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level manufacturing or equivalent experience
- Safety training
- Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) training
- Forklift license
- Quality inspection, documentation, and inventory control experience
