Global Supply Chain Manager

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

In this position...

The Global Supply Chain Manager plays a vital role in developing and executing global sourcing strategies for a portfolio of critical parts and engineering services spend. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects across multiple teams and suppliers.

This high-visibility role will initially focus on a special project—building global supply chain capabilities and unlocking financial value by 2025. This project partners with a world-class third party and offers significant internal networking opportunities. The successful candidate will be a catalyst for broader supply chain transformation, acting as a role model and trendsetter. This requires resilience, strong business acumen, and a "play-to-win" attitude. Post-project, skills will be applied across multiple Ford buying teams.

What you'll do...

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, encompassing RFQs, cost analytics, negotiations, and contract execution.

  • Manage the cost, quality, and delivery of commodities across multiple programs.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to understand requirements and provide comprehensive sourcing solutions.

  • Develop and implement advanced cost tools and methodologies.

  • Manage complex supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.

  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and material indices to identify cost savings and product improvements.

  • Develop and negotiate creative commercial agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

  • Onboard new suppliers and manage supplier performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

  • Develop and manage budgets and resources.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management. Master's degree preferred.

  • 5-8 years of experience in supply chain management

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chains.

Even better, you may have...

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced procurement software.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above?

No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage

  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more

  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more

  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases

  • Tuition assistance

  • Established and active employee resource groups

  • Paid time off for individual and team community service

  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day

  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
