Director, Branch Banking - Western Nebraska, Eastern Colorado, Wyoming
The Director, Branch Banking leads a geographic region of FNBO branches, driving sales growth, exceptional customer experiences, operational excellence, and talent development while managing risk and compliance. This role requires a dynamic leader who spends approximately 60% of their time in branches, coaching teams, strengthening performance, and ensuring consistent delivery of FNBO's mission and values across all locations.
Reporting to the Vice President of Branch Banking, you'll balance the dual priorities of people leadership and business results—developing high-performing branch managers while fostering strong internal partnerships and community relationships that enhance FNBO's reputation and market presence. About This Role Region C | Community 7 & 9 Key Accountabilities Leadership & Culture- Champion FNBO's mission, values, and culture across all branch locations in your region
- Provide strategic direction and hands-on coaching to branch managers, fostering excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with branch managers to review goals, provide coaching, and remove barriers to success
- Organize and facilitate bi-monthly manager meetings to align teams, share best practices, and drive accountability
- Recruit, hire, and develop branch managers who exemplify FNBO's leadership traits and values
- Conduct annual Manager Once Removed (MOR) meetings with all employees across your region
- Build a robust talent pipeline by identifying and developing future branch managers and organizational leaders
- Lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation of new policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives
- Hold branch managers accountable for recruiting quality talent, improving employee experience and maintaining appropriate levels of turnover.
- Drive accountability by analyzing branch performance metrics and partnering with managers to implement corrective actions
- Ensure branch managers conduct effective Power Meetings that motivate teams and accelerate growth
- Leverage Salesforce to monitor, manage, and optimize sales activities and performance across the region
- Set clear performance expectations and provide data-driven feedback to maximize results
- Ensure all branches maintain strict adherence to corporate policies, operational procedures, and risk management protocols
- Deliver consistent operational standards and customer service excellence across every location
- Partner with branch managers to resolve escalated operational challenges and internal issues
- Participate in activities that support FNBO's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program
- Champion a customer-first approach that reflects FNBO's commitment to exceptional service
- Build a customer-centric culture through teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Resolve escalated customer complaints with professionalism and urgency
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements
- Represent FNBO in the community through participation in philanthropic activities, events, and board service
- Hold teams accountable for meaningful community engagement that strengthens FNBO's local presence
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key business partners and community leaders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners, such as Small Business, Mortgage, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and other departments to deliver seamless customer experiences and drive integrated growth strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years branch management experience.
- Proven track record of sales performance management.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and risk management.
- Ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Commitment to community engagement and corporate social responsibility.
- In-branch presence at least 60% of the time

Compensation range (base pay): $112,937.00-$191,995.00
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range. Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level. Work Environment It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
