About Us: For nearly 70 years, Toefco Engineering LLC continues to stand behind our coating solutions. During that time we have engineered spray coating solutions for nearly any component you can think of; from tiny O rings to massive holding tanks we’ve done it all. We’ve even spray-coated all the hardware in the Statue of Liberty during its restoration from 1984-1986 with our specialty corrosion-resistant coatings. Throughout the years we have made significant infrastructure and technological investments to ensure our growth and commitment to delivering exceptionally coated products.
Summary:
The Plant manager has the functional responsibility to support, monitor, coordinate, and synchronize all production processes performed at Toefco, They also have the direct responsibility to ensure all systems and procedures are being followed. The Plant Manager is directly responsible for overseeing scheduling, processing, testing, administrative, and/or other production-related processes to facilitate Toefco’s on-time delivery goal, and to ensure that quality requirements are satisfied in a cost-effective manner. The Plant Manager has the responsibility and authority to command and direct resources as required to satisfy corporate objectives as outlined by the Executive Management Committee and the Strategic Business Plan.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Assistant Plant Manager and Coordinator daily check lists are being complete
- Ensuring Bi-weekly department action item meeting are happening and action items are being tracked
- Maintaining Toefco’s on time delivery goal by working with individual department coordinators regarding scheduling and staffing needs
- Communicating with internal and external customers, and production administrative staff to monitor the status of customer orders, and to facilitate changes as needed
- Effectively works and communicates with cross-functional departments including but not limited to EHS, Maintenance, Sales, and Quality
- Assists the Technical Sales departing by providing input on quotes, technical advice and support, on-site visits to customers, and through participation in other sales-related functions
- Initiating and assisting with employee evaluations, hiring decisions, training needs, qualification records, etc.
- Identifies and recommends cost controls and other improvements to production process
- Collaborates with purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on materials and production inventories
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow of the facility
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Ensure team is following all company policies, procedures, and IFT’s standards
- Mentoring team members to recognize and remove bottlenecks by re-allocating people and equipment as necessary to meet corporate objectives
- Actively looks for opportunities to develop employees and promote from within
- Manages by facts and objective evidence
- Creating goals for individual team members to ensure IFT is maximizing their potential
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering or related field highly preferred. Proven experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
At least four years of related experience required.
Job Level
Managerial level position. Reports directly to the Director of Operations
Job Complexity
Assignments are complex in nature. Advanced planning, problem solving skills, prioritizing, and communication with internal and external customers is a paramount to success. The ability to motivate, manage, and direct the efforts of the production staff, while maintaining the highest quality standards, in an efficient and cost-effective manner is required.
Supervision
Normally receives little input on daily operational issues unless solicited. Is routinely provided with broad statements of corporate philosophy as well as specific corporate goals and objectives, and is responsible for monitoring and ensuring progress towards attainment of planned results.
Continuing Education
The individual is required to complete at least 24 hours of job related training per year. This may be accomplished through Internal Training Systems, University-level courses, seminars, continuing education courses, or as approved by the Executive Management Committee.
Travel
Local and overnight travel may be required occasionally.
