Fuel Clerk Job Description:

As an associate of Kroger, the basic objective of your position is to satisfy our customers by providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Essential Functions:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Achieve a high degree of excellence in the daily operation and readiness for business in the fuel areas by fully supporting all KMA merchandising programs, and company and governmental policies and practices.
• Maintenance of all fuel facilities and equipment to keep in good working condition.
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner, displaying a positive attitude, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers and other employees, and keeping all information in the fuel center confidential.
• Follow established Personal Appearance policies and guidelines.
• Read and follow-through on fuel center bulletins and memos.
• Communicate with the Store Manager and other employees.
• Seek answers when questions arise.
• Document information on appropriate forms.
• Complete all tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
• Understand and comply with all company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
• Comply with recommended safety guidelines.
• Show initiative in assuming additional tasks.
• Provide each customer with prompt, courteous service. Handle customer complaints jn a professional manner.
• Participate in merchandising by receiving and stocking merchandise, and maintaining awareness of store promotions.
• Understand the causes of shortages and work honestly and effectively to control loss and increase profits.
• Understand the operation of the cash register and follow all cash-handling policies to help prevent loss.
• Complete daily cleaning duties in order to provide the customer with a clean fuel center in which to shop by using daily duty lists as well as completing extra duties assigned by management.
• The Fuel Clerk may be assigned to perform other tasks in addition to those discussed above.
