Snr Manager, Software Engineering, Cloud Performance
Job Description
At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we are reimagining the cloud. Our mission is to scale to hundreds of thousands of regions to meet evolving customer needs. We are building a platform to enable an autonomous cloud vision and services, transforming everything from runtime environments to the software development lifecycle and operations. Our team operates with start-up agility while leveraging the scale of one of the world's leading cloud companies. This greenfield, industry-first project will drive a fundamental shift in how the cloud is perceived and utilized. As a Sr Director of engineering in the Autonomous OCI (AOCI) division, you and your team will help shape the vision and lead the development of OCI's next-generation cloud service platform.
This role blends technical depth with organizational leadership. You'll mentor and grow your engineers, while also rolling up your sleeves when needed to dive into architecture, design and drive execution. If you're energized by the chance to shape a 0?1 greenfield initiative and define the future of cloud infrastructure, this role offers both the scope and impact to do it.
This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud services from the ground up. We are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. You will be part of a team of smart, motivated, diverse people, and given the autonomy as well as support to do your best work. It is a dynamic and flexible workplace where you'll belong and be encouraged.
Who are we looking for?
You've built and operated high-scale cloud infrastructure services and understand how to continuously improve the technology and grow the business. You have experience working with services that require data to travel long distances but must abide by compliance and regulations. You have built, grew, and managed distributed multinational teams, and owned design, delivery, and operations of a prominent public cloud service.
You are technically strong and have worked on services that are highly available, scalable, and resilient. You can balance feature delivery with iteration and incremental improvements. You've made life easier for your engineers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements. You know how to wear the hats of an engineering leader, product owner and project manager at the same time and get a lot done daily.
