PIP Defense Attorney
Southfield, MI | $100,000 - $160,000/year

We are seeking a PIP Defense Attorney to manage insurance litigation matters from inception through resolution. This role offers the opportunity to handle meaningful cases, develop litigation strategies, and take ownership of a full caseload while working alongside an experienced legal team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage PIP files from initial assignment through conclusion, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, negotiations, trials, and appeals
- Develop effective litigation strategies by analyzing legal and factual issues
- Draft discovery requests and responses, review medical records, and handle depositions
- Present and cross-examine lay and expert witnesses
- Manage assigned files independently while meeting deadlines and case objectives
- Collaborate with support staff on litigation-related administrative matters
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Michigan law license and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
- 2+ years of PIP litigation experience preferred
- Experience handling auto insurance defense claims is a plus
- Knowledge of Michigan discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable insurance law
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Comfortable working in a paperless legal environment with legal technology tools
