Maintenance Technician

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor the industrial mechanic ensures the proper maintenance of the equipment. Daily, this person will be called upon to work in close collaboration with the production department. Qualified candidates will be responsible for servicing and troubleshooting the production and support equipment within our plant, and be able to work independently, or as a member of a team. This position will include project support, preventive, and predictive maintenance. Must follow/support all Company safety procedures and perform all work in a safe manner.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform timely repairs on production machinery
- Conduct routine inspections and corrective actions to prevent downtime
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs
Preventive Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as outlined by our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Identify wear and tear and recommend proactive solutions to extend equipment life
Process Optimization & Installation
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to modify existing installations for improved performance
- Assist in the setup and commissioning of new equipment and machinery
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and safety
Collaboration & Communication
- Work in close partnership with production staff to understand operational needs and respond swiftly to equipment issues
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding maintenance status and priorities
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure equipment meets regulatory standards
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to a culture of continuous
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Dependable and responsible
Able To Work Overtime When Mandated (May Be Short Notice At Times)
Able To Be “On Call” When Needed (Including Weekends)
Positive work attitude
Effectively communicate daily issues through documentation, emails and verbal communication
Performs preventative maintenance, light tool work, repairs and replaces parts on mechanical equipment such as Presses, Sanders and Conveyor systems.
Working knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Fabrication and Welding
Understands and applies appropriate and prescribed safety procedures and practices
Must have the ability to apply problem solving techniques to complex situations, read blue prints, job data sheets, and safety instructions
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Experience with CMMS software is a plus
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
