Steel Erector

Join our AISC-Certified steel erection teams where we construct both conventional structural steel and pre-engineered structures. Our team members are responsible for safely setting primary structural building elements and installing joists, decking, insulation, roofing, wall sheeting, and stair systems.

• Erect steel structures by following basic construction drawings and specifications.
• Properly erect structural members using specified bolting and welding connections.
• Transport structural members and components from ground level using cranes and other equipment to safely place within the project.
• Ensure structural connections and alignment using specified measuring equipment.
• Fabricate miscellaneous modifications and connections in the field.
• Access challenging work positions that are either at elevation or otherwise difficult to reach while following proper OSHA regulations.
• Accurately follow direction given by foreman or project leadership.
• Safely and efficiently install metal decking and standing seam metal roofing.
• Install metal siding, including insulated metal panels and associated trims and flashings.

• 3+ years of experience in Steel Erecting or as an Iron Worker.
• Experience with Conventional Steel or Pre-Engineered Steel (Siding).
• Ability to operate Boomlift and SkyTrack.
• Capability to describe previous industrial or commercial projects completed.
• Proficiency in performing stick or arc welding.

• Welding certification.
• Experience in Metal Roofing or Metal Siding.
• Construction experience.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Carpentry skills.
• Metal stud experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

This position involves working outdoors from 7am to 4pm, although times may change per project. Work is primarily located an hour outside of Grand Rapids, focusing on school or industrial plant additions. The role involves working in groups of 3-4 people, and requires personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, hand tools, hammer, tape measure, and pouches.

This is a Permanent position based out of Caledonia, MI.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
