Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students during the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position is based in Lawrence, MI, offering a unique chance to work one-on-one with students requiring sign language interpretation services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students in a K-12 educational setting.
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff to support learning and inclusion.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure the communication needs of students are met.
• Attend necessary meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required.

Qualifications:

• Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license meeting state requirements.
• Experience working with children in a K-12 environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a one-on-one setting, adapting to individual student needs.
• Strong understanding of educational terminology and classroom dynamics.
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
