Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district in Big Rapids, MI is actively hiring a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students for the upcoming school year. This position is ideal for both local professionals and qualified travel interpreters seeking a rewarding school-based opportunity.

Travel candidates may be eligible for housing assistance and relocation support.

Position Summary:

• Full-time, school-based role (MondayFriday)

• Serving students across elementary, middle, and high school levels

• Onsite work only; follows the academic calendar

Required Credentials:

• Current Michigan Sign Language Interpreter license or Educational Interpreter endorsement

• Valid EIPA score (in compliance with state standards)

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

• Ability to adapt to different learning environments and age groups

• School experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing ASL interpretation in classrooms and school settings

• Supporting communication between students, teachers, and peers

• Working collaboratively with educators to support student access to instruction

• Implementing IEP-related services as assigned

• Maintaining professionalism and student confidentiality
