Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving:

• Receive incoming shipments, inspect materials for damage or discrepancies, and document shipments using QuickBooks.
• Prepare and pack outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring all items are correct and properly packaged.
• Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
• Track material at outside process and follow up with vendor delivery’s

QuickBooks Documentation:

• Utilize QuickBooks to generate shipping and receiving documentation, including packing slips, invoices, and bills of lading.
• Ensure accuracy in QuickBooks records for inventory and financial documentation related to shipments.

Inventory Control:

• Maintain accurate inventory records in QuickBooks, including logging materials into the system and tracking stock levels.
• Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure proper stock levels and resolve discrepancies.

Truck Route Planning:

• Plan and coordinate truck routes to ensure timely deliveries and efficient use of resources.
• Optimize delivery schedules based on customer requirements, delivery windows, and geographical considerations.
• Communicate with drivers to confirm schedules and address any issues that may arise during transit.

Team Management:

• Supervise and manage one warehouse staff member and one delivery truck driver ensuring that tasks are completed on time and in accordance with company procedures.
• Provide training, support, and guidance to the warehouse team member to maintain efficiency and safety in the warehouse.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to promote team development.

Safety & Organization:

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the shipping/receiving area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.

Communication:

• Work closely with production, purchasing, and quality control teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Provide excellent customer service to vendors and customers regarding shipping inquiries.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or related certifications is a plus).
• 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse coordination, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of shipping/receiving processes, including freight and logistics.
• Experience using QuickBooks to generate documentation and manage inventory.
• Ability to plan truck routes and optimize delivery schedules.
• Proven experience in managing or supervising a small team.
• Ability to lift heavy packages and materials (up to 50 lbs.)
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Experience using overhead crane is a plus, will need for occasionally loading trucks
