Heavy Duty Truck Repair/Service Center Manager
We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands on Heavy Duty Truck - Service Center Manager to lead an oversee the daily operations of our commercial truck repair facility. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in diesel truck systems, an a commitment to delivering high-quality service. The ideal candidate will manage the shop workflow, supervise technicians, ensure timely and accurate repairs and uphold safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations the of the repair shop, ensuring efficient scheduling, repair timelines, and quality control.
- Supervise and support a team of diesel technicians, apprentices and tank inspectors.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with heavy-duty trucks including engines transmissions, brakes, suspensions and electrical systems.
- Ensure all repair work is performed according to OEM standards an safety regulations.
- Coordinate parts ordering and inventory management to minimize down time and control repair and parts cost.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, work order, inspections and warranties.
- Communicate clearly with the customer about repairs, timelines and cost estimates.
- Monitor technician performance and provide training, guidance an evaluations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and other safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting and identifying areas for operational improvement and cost control.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel truck repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics an repairs procedures for commercial trucks.
- ASE Certification (Heavy Duty Truck or equivalent) preferred.
- Computer skills, email, google suite and diagnostic programs an repair order software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Understanding of DOT compliance, safety inspections and preventative maintenance programs.
- High School diploma or GED required; technical school certificate or associate degree preferred.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Full time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend availability required depending on workload.
- Mostly on site at the repair shop, may require occasional off-site visits, parts pick up or mobile service calls.
