About this position

Our production team is growing and we are looking for someone to help lead our team.

The schedule:

This is a 4 day, ten hour position, Wednesday-Saturday 6:00 AM-4:30 PM.

Job Purpose

Assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of all production functions with continuous focus on maximizing productivity, labor resource allocation, reduction of errors and reduction of packaging costs.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work directly with the supervisor; monitoring the functions of the AB line to ensure orders are processed in an accurate and efficient manner.
2. Perform picking, packing and shipping functions when not in a lead role.
3. Responsible for leading and motivating employees to perform at their highest level; coaching and building team members is the main focus of this position.
4. Serve as a liaison between Management and the AB Line Team.
5. Communicate with the shipping team & customer service to ensure client's directions are followed.
6. Communicate with department management on critical Shipping Department Issues; including process improvements.
7. Communicate with other departments and clients, as needed, to ensure any picking, packing or shipping issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
8. Proficient in operating all equipment within the AB Line.
9. Ensure a safe workplace by enforcing all safety rules and by promoting awareness and accountability.
10. Ensure staff understands and adheres to all company policies.
11. Perform any additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma.
• Experience in order fulfillment including experience at the management level is preferred.
• Experience in developing and improving efficiency and reducing waste through production engineering and design.
• Must be highly organized and efficient, excellent time management skills
• Be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership skills; effective delegation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with Management, Co-Workers, Clients & Staff; both verbally (Individually or in a group setting) and in writing.
• Accomplished computer skills with MS Office suite, along with experience in relevant business operating systems.

Working conditions

Order volume fluctuations may create a necessity to work overtime.

The working environment is consistent with a typical warehouse, exposure to noise and dust as well as changes in temperature and lighting. Equipment, such as Forklifts, is consistently used throughout the warehouse.

Physical Requirements

The ability to walk, stand, push, twist and bend the entire length of your shift (generally 8 hours). Occasionally lift customer merchandise from 0-50 pounds.
