Medical Aesthetician
BOYD Medical Aestheticians provide exceptional service and clinical care to patients seeking aesthetic treatments. This role focuses on educating patients about aesthetic procedures, skincare products, and treatment plans designed to help them achieve their individual goals while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and patient experience. Medical Aestheticians are responsible for delivering high-quality treatments, maintaining accurate patient documentation, supporting practice operations, and collaborating with the clinical and administrative team to ensure a seamless patient experience. Licensure and Professional Expectations
- Maintain a valid aesthetician license in accordance with state regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and punctual attendance.
- Adhere to all practice policies regarding marketing, social media participation and brand representation.
- Uphold HIPPA compliance in all patient interactions, documentation and communication.
- Participate in all required trainings, staff meetings, and educational opportunities.
- Perform aesthetic treatments including facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, non-invasive laser treatments, radiofrequency devices, and face and body contouring procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive patient consultations for aesthetic and laser services.
- Recommend appropriate skincare regimens and educate patients on pre-treatment and post-treatment care.
- Answer patient questions regarding treatments, procedures, products, and recommended treatment plans.
- Follow all treatment protocols including accurate charting, clinical photography, patient consent documentation, and treatment quote creation.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients and clients.
- Maintain a strong level of patient retention through excellent service and follow up.
- Follow up with existing clients regarding new services, skincare products, specials, and events.
- Assist in driving new business through consultations and collaboration with the Client Coordinator.
- Participate in marketing initiatives including demonstration or trial treatments when appropriate.
- Complete detailed electronic medical records including photography documentation for patient visits.
- Prepare patients to be seen by providers when needed.
- Assist with answering phones and scheduling patients when necessary.
- Follow all BOYD procedures for charting, consenting, billing, and EMR documentation.
- Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal room utilization.
- Maintain proper opening and closing procedures for the back office.
- Clean, stock, and organize patient treatment rooms.
- Assist with stocking, restocking, and ordering treatment inventory and supplies.
- Maintain equipment and ensure treatment rooms and workspace remain organized.
- Take garbage and boxes out throughout the day and at closing.
- Maintain kitchen and common areas for staff.
- Ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked daily.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled patient when required.
- Participate in quarterly meetings with the Estheticians from other BOYD offices to develop plans of action for upcoming weeks or months.
- Work collaboratively with providers, coordinators, and clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Contribute to the overall team success by following office policies, procedures, and protocols.
