Your commitment of 37.5 hours per week means you'll have the chance to build meaningful connections with students, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll work alongside dedicated educators and support staff who value innovative approaches and collaborative care.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid occupational therapy license in Michigan (or eligibility for Michigan licensure)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting, preferably with high school-aged students
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and familiarity with educational documentation
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Creative, compassionate, and adaptable approach to interventions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessments, interventions, and recommendations tailored to high school students
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, gross motor, and self-help skills necessary for academic success
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to enhance student participation and achievement
- Assist in IEP development and progress monitoring, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Provide direct and consultative services, adapting strategies to meet individual needs
- Maintain thorough records and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
