The Department of Philosophy, Anthropology, and Religion at Central Michigan University invites applications for a one-semester, part-time Lecturer position in Intergroup Relations and Justice to begin January 2026.
It’s anticipated that the successful candidate will teach two sections of IGR 145: Racism and Racial Justice through Dialogue on our campus in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications and interests, other classes could be assigned, up to a total teaching load of three courses.
Required Qualifications:- Master’s degree in a field relevant to the critical study of race and racism, or in a field relevant to engaged teaching and learning methods.
- Experience teaching or facilitating using intergroup dialogue pedagogy.
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Experience mentoring and supporting peer educators or paraprofessionals.
- Scholarly and/or professional activity engaged with intergroup dialogue.
