We are a locally owned independent pharmacy in Southfield seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team.
Requirements:
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician License (required)
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Pharmacy experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Process and fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Count, label, and package medications
- Enter prescription information into pharmacy system
- Assist customers and answer phone calls
- Manage inventory and maintain accurate records
- Follow Michigan Board of Pharmacy regulations

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting patient care and medication management across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong pharmacy technician experience, with additional expertise in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or hospital environments preferred. This position emphasizes patient service, medication safety, and adherence to aseptic techniques, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately following prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists with medication administration and patient care activities
- Manage medication intake processes, including verifying patient information and insurance details
- Support IV infusion preparations and aseptic techniques to ensure sterile compounding standards are maintained
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring medication needs are met efficiently
- Maintain accurate documentation of medication records, inventory, and compounding logs
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care or hospital settings to ensure timely medication delivery
- Adhere to all safety standards related to medication handling, including infection control and aseptic procedures
- Assist with medication reconciliation and monitor for potential drug interactions or contraindications
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician with current licensure or registration as required by state regulations
- Prior pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC pharmacy, hospital, or critical care environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding is highly desirable
- Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations within acute care or hospital settings
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping and inventory management
- Familiarity with healthcare software systems and pharmacy management tools is a plus
