Business Marketing Faculty 9/10-Month

Cornerstone University, a theologically conservative Christian University located in Grand Rapids, Michigan invites applications for a full time, 9/10 - month faculty position in Business Management and Marketing beginning fall, 2026.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the candidate’s specialization area, academic advising, assessment of student learning, student recruitment and other departmental duties as assigned. The successful candidate is eligible for academic rank, likely beginning as an Assistant Professor, if qualifications are met.

Professional and Academic Qualifications

  • Possess a relevant master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Provide evidence of scholarly potential and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
  • Teach general and upper-level management and marketing courses
  • Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the candidate’s specialization area, student recruitment, course and program assessment, and other departmental duties as assigned.

Cornerstone‘s School of Business & Innovation curriculum provides a Christ-focused education that is dedicated to sophisticated Christian Worldview integration and to experiential learning. Our faculty enjoy working together to mentor and teach our students the complexities of the subject matter while connecting them to career-ready relationships through internships, networking events, and more.

Salary and Start Date:

  • Annual Salary of $65,000 - $70,000 for a 9/10-month faculty contract. The actual base salary will be commensurate with professional qualifications, skills, education, and experience. A full benefit package including health plans, disability coverage, a 403(b) retirement plan, and dependent tuition remission is included.
  • Start Date: August 2026

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Teaching

As an institution committed to academic excellence in a student focused learning environment, Cornerstone places high value upon teaching effectiveness and student learning. They are expected to advance student competency in the relevant academic discipline, while utilizing a diverse set of instructional methods that fit their academic discipline and teaching style. At Cornerstone University, a typical full time faculty teaching load is 300 student credit hours each semester and a total annual teaching load of 600 student credit hours per academic year and faculty are expected to be open to the possibility of achieving this loading requirement through teaching in both the on-ground and online modalities.

Spiritual Modeling and Mentoring

As an institution committed to developing devoted followers of Christ who will be equipped and empowered to influence their culture for Christ, faculty engagement in spiritual modeling and mentoring is essential. Faculty are expected to contribute purposefully and constructively to the spiritual development, vocational direction, and academic success of students. Among other means, this is achieved by being accessible to and proactively engaged with students, modeling healthy relationships, and skillfully modeling the integration of a Christ-centered worldview with the academic disciplines while teaching.

Scholarship

As an institution committed to academic excellence and cultural influence, Cornerstone is interested in cultivating faculty, academic administrators and graduates engaged in scholarship. Faculty of Cornerstone are expected to engage in the forms of scholarship appropriate to their respective academic discipline and in keeping with their professional research interests.

Service:

Faculty members are expected to participate constructively in the life of Cornerstone, regularly attend and serve within a church whose beliefs and practices are consistent with the Cornerstone Confession and contribute as appropriate to the broader community. Within Cornerstone, faculty are expected to attend Chapel at least once/week and contribute to the work of the respective School by mentoring students, attending meetings, and serving on committees. Regarding external service, faculty are encouraged to make their disciplinary expertise available in service to the various academic and professional expressions of their discipline and to the broader community.

All faculty will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.

Physical Requirements:

Unless specifically noted, faculty must be able to meet the physical demands of navigating the physical campus to teach classes, labs, or clinicals on campus and/or in a clinical setting. Use of computer and other technological equipment is required. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
