Location: Dimondale, Michigan, USA | Employment Type: CTC, W2 | Pay Rate: $40/hour | Experience Required: 3 years

Position Overview

This onsite role serves as the primary resource for developing radio programming files for distribution and installation into client radios across the Metro Region. The position requires extensive computer skills and the ability to accurately enter data into radio programming files and associated asset management software while functioning with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Build radio programming templates for client radios and develop prototype templates for field testing
• Identify radio programming needs through written requests and user contract-related tasks
• Request and manage radio IDs, talk groups, and encryption codes for template development
• Perform quality checks on templates and databases to ensure accuracy and remove errors
• Program client radios with appropriate templates and encryption codes while supporting field staff
• Compile and input equipment information into EAM system and associated databases
• Investigate issues related to client radio operations and support evaluation of new radios
• Test new programming software and provide field support as required

Qualifications

• FCC General Radio Telephone License and APCO Certificate or approved equivalent required
• Three years of experience as a Radio/Communications Technician required
• Two years of experience with P25 Radio Programming (Motorola & Kenwood) required
• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and database management
• Preferred: Military/Public Safety/Radio Communications experience and previous P25 encryption experience/KMF (AES)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
• Must be located near the Dimondale, MI area for onsite presence
