The Senior Manager of Retail Performance Media will be one of the critical levers to advance our omni-commerce commercial capabilities. This role will provide the algorithmic expertise to advance paid search/onsite executions and optimize our retailer performance media investment. The primary objective of this role will be to enable WKKC to improve media & business results within top retailers such as Walmart, Instacart and Amazon. They will work cross functionally with multiple teams to enable business outcomes across retailers, guide our agency partners, and educate the organization on growth driven through retail media networks. This is a Hybrid position that requires this person to live within 61-200 miles of the Battle Creek, Michigan Headquarter Office and will be expected to be in office one consecutive Tuesday/Wednesday each month. - Peer Relationships – Sales, Omni, Marketing, and Analytics.
- Key contacts (internal & external) – Above cross functional internal contacts, plus agency contacts and retail media network points of contact
- Know and leverage customer’s platform algorithm for WKKC benefit to maximize impact, particularly with our largest opportunity customers.
- Drive real-time optimization of retailer tactical plans, particularly with our largest opportunity customers.
- Partner with digital shelf lead to understand/improve the impact of retail media on organic search rank.
- Provide guidance to agency partners and retail media network teams (in partnership with Omni-Commerce leads) ensuring best practices are executed for tactical plan development and execution.
- Share real time learnings with the omni-commerce and agency teams to ensure learnings are implemented across the marketplace.
- Partner with omni marketing analytics to establish and drive focused, aligned to KPIs with optimal tactical mix to accomplish desired business outcomes - with a retail media measurement strategy to reflect.
- Establish best practices for tactical plan development and execution of retailer media mix (data inputs, targeting, automation/technology, and tactical mix optimization) in partnership with Advanced Marketing Capabilities team.
- Provide roadmap recommendations to Omni Commerce team and Retailer Media Networks for improved offerings.
- Translate business needs, goals and marketplace opportunities into go-to-market retail media plans – across all supported retail but prioritized crossed our largest opportunity customers.
- Drive clear connection between retail media tactical plans and solving broader business challenges (share gap closures, digital penetration goals, digital shelf performance, etc.).
- Drive innovative learning agendas and optimization of retail media measurement in partnership with Omni Commerce, Integrated Business Intelligence, Advanced Marketing Capabilities and Agency teams.
- Collaborate with and be a strategic partner to the Advanced Marketing Capability and agency teams to drive best practices and national/retailer harmonization.
- Provide guidance on retail investment sufficiency and optimizations that will drive desired business outcomes.
- Create a training roadmap for cross-functional partners that establishes deep understanding of retail performance media commercial impact to the business.
- Partner with Advanced Marketing Capabilities team to evaluate emerging retail media networks and guide commercial teams on standards needed to invest.
- Develop and evolve future state roadmap to drive retail media evolution & performance improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in digital and performance media, with 5+ years specifically in retail media.
- Deep expertise in Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart Ads, and other leading retail media platforms.
- Background in Media/Commerce Agencies, Retail Media Networks/Platforms, or Digital Commerce Marketing at a CPG company. Experience in two or more is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of retailer paid search and retailer search algorithms.
- Proven success in go-to-market strategies using retailer media platforms that deliver positive ROI.
- Strong ability to analyze data and insights to identify opportunities and drive strategy and execution.
- Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving and commercial planning skills.
- Proven ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization and drive change.
