Job Summary

The Shift Supervisor provides leadership and direction for the production shift. This role ensures effective training, development, and guidance of team members in accordance with company standards and best practices. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring product quality, and meeting on-time delivery and productivity goals while managing shift performance and costs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Coordinate production plans with the Production Manager and others based on production orders, drawings, and specifications to optimize productivity.
• Train and develop team members on various operating processes such as injection molding, CNC router operation, bending, and assembly procedures.
• Provide training on job duties following established quality standards, manufacturing procedures, and safety rules.
• Coordinate and complete line changeovers; train team members to handle these independently.
• Conduct quality and production audits throughout the shift to ensure compliance and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and powered machinery including drills, routers, saws, punches, and similar equipment.
• Verify count accuracy, packaging, labeling, and skidding of in-process and finished products according to specifications.
• Transfer materials manually or using pallet jacks and may operate a forklift upon completion of proper training.
• Complete shift reports and maintain accurate production records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in using a tape measure (to 1/16").
• Experience with measuring and inspection tools (tape measures, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Ability to operate common hand tools and production equipment.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. for material handling.
• Ability to read and understand production documents and simple mechanical drawings (training provided).
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); ERP system experience preferred (training provided).
• Forklift experience a plus (training available).

• Good handwriting and strong reading comprehension.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with coworkers, vendors, and drivers.
• Proficient with measuring tools and comfortable operating hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.

Occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing stairs required.

Regular use of hands for handling and moving materials.

Must follow all safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
