Who We’re Looking For:

a Cloud DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our client's collaborative and innovative team. This role is essential in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, as well as enhancing DevOps practices. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve reliability, and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.

CarNet is a connected vehicle service provided by the VW Group of North America to customers who own VW vehicles with connectivity capabilities across the U.S. and Canada. CarNet IT systems include various backend, frontend, and middleware applications. These systems integrate with in-vehicle connectivity units, mobile network operators (MNOs), call centers, data stream consumers, internal VW systems (GOA and Germany), and several other platforms.

These integrations enable features such as remote vehicle start, vehicle location tracking, network carrier management, remote locking via voice assistant (e.g., Alexa), and many more.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Automate and enhance deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Create and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Use container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to support scalable application delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed DevOps practices into development workflows.
  • Apply and maintain cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance and resilience.
  • Monitor and optimize GCP services for cost, performance, and reliability.
  • Integrate automated testing and validation steps into CI/CD pipelines to support high-quality releases.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, DevOps pipeline, and application performance issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • 7–8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps engineering.
  • Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager).
  • Strong background in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption practices.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Stackdriver).
  • Strong foundation in software development lifecycles and version control (Git).
  • Ability to optimize cost and performance across cloud resources.
  • Experience implementing advanced DevOps methodologies like GitOps or ChatOps.
  • Skilled in building and managing scalable, cloud-native applications on GCP.
  • Google Cloud certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with serverless solutions (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run).
  • Exposure to machine learning infrastructure and workloads on GCP.

Codeworks, LLC discloses that the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $55 and $58. This range is subject to change based on job-related factors, including client requirements where applicable.
