Step into an impactful role supporting students’ communication skills and academic success in a dynamic school environment near Lapeer, MI. This contract opportunity is ideal for passionate professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualized speech-language services to children and adolescents.
You’ll work a 35-hour week, Monday through Friday, with both K–3 and K–12 student populations. This position requires collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help every child reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist credential or certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Experience in school-based settings supporting pediatric populations
- Adept with assessment tools, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, adaptability, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and direct therapy for students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student development
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with school and legal standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for holistic student support
- Provide support for students across a range of communication and language needs
