Heavy Blast Technician - 1st Shift (6am-2:30pm)

Summary Performs blasting/mechanical cleaning and any chemical pre-cleaning prior to blasting necessary to supply our internal and external customers with high quality, clean surface for their parts. Duties and Responsibilities Reads process sheets to determine customer specificationsOperates blaster using appropriate material and blasting portion of parts as outlined by the customerMoves parts to and from blasting areaChecks and maintains all guns, air hoses, gauges, nozzles, part carts, glass, and turntables for wear and damage dailyMaintains a clean work areaFills out process sheets for each jobStars up and shuts down all blast area equipment according to procedureResponsible for quality of work in blast area to ensure customer specifications are metPerforms other related duties as assignedMoves 10-50 lbs. across work area on a repetitive basisRemain in a stationary position on a continual basis for duration of shiftWorks overtime as required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Training and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED)6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
