We are seeking a Senior Project Manager (PM3) to join our team. This role will involve supporting a high-priority, multi-year IT project. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT project management, portfolio management tools, stakeholder communication, vendor coordination, and formal project delivery methodologies.

Job Title: Senior Project Manager (PM3)

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid 2 days on-site, 3 days remote)

Duration: 12+ Months

• Utilize the State of Michigan's Project Portfolio Management Tool (Clarity) to prepare project schedules, assign resources, and manage budgets.
• Prepare presentations for executives, managers, and project team members.
• Monitor, control, and communicate project progress by managing cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
• Ensure clear, timely, and accurate communication with sponsors, stakeholders, and management.
• Provide leadership and foster collaboration between technical and business teams to build consensus.
• Develop and maintain project deliverables including Project Charter, Project Schedule, Project Budget, Communication Plan, Status Reports, Risk/Issue Logs, Change Requests, and Project Closeout Summary.
• Manage interfaces and communication across multiple agencies and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and standards throughout all phases.
• Facilitate and enforce the Change Management process for deviations in scope, schedule, or budget.
• Create Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for projects in yellow or red status.
• Review vendor contracts and manage vendor deliverables to ensure compliance.
• Facilitate stakeholder interactions, clarify expectations, and track deliverable completion.

• 7+ years of IT project management experience, including industry best practices.
• Proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong experience with budgets, schedules, change requests, risk and issue logs.
• 7+ years of experience preparing and delivering project status reports.
• 5+ years of experience using portfolio/project management tools (e.g., Clarity).
• 5+ years of advanced MS Project experience.
• 5+ years managing diverse stakeholders and system owners.
• 5+ years managing IT projects involving COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) solutions.
• 5+ years managing multi-vendor environments in government settings.
• PMP Certification (Highly Desired).
