We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Lake Odessa, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing processes through expert electrical and mechanical maintenance. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to urgent maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will:
- Independently troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues .
- Apply strong problem-solving and programming troubleshooting skills , with a preference for Allen-Bradley systems.
- Ensure the reliability of manufacturing processes and compliance with established standards.
- Perform preventative and annual maintenance on equipment.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment .
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control schematics .
- Adhere to all safety procedures , including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Identify, plan, and execute follow-up maintenance work .
- Prepare and maintain safe, organized work environments .
- Respond to unplanned maintenance needs as directed.
- Accurately complete and document work orders and maintenance records .
- Communicate maintenance updates through written pass-downs .
- Maintain and troubleshoot electronic controls and instrumentation .
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and VOMs to test and repair systems.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- Possession of an Electrical/Maintenance Journeyman License in the state of Michigan .
- 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience .
- Proficiency in basic programming and advanced troubleshooting skills , preferably with Allen-Bradley.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and Ladder logic .
- Willingness to be an active member of the Hazmat team .
- Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude .
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints or other forms of engineering drawings , including detail blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, and wiring schematics.
- Availability to work weekend and off-shift hours as needed.
- Computer literacy and a willingness to learn SAP/PPE systems.
- Direct Allen-Bradley programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Maintenance experience within a food processing environment.
- Proficiency with test/calibration tools (e.g., RTD calibrators, multimeters).
- Ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC 3-phase, 120 VAC, and 24VDC circuits.
