Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically advanced Application Engineering Expert to lead the development, support, and strategic growth of our Scotseal product line. This role is part of the SKF Automotive and Commercial Vehicles team, focusing on complex customer applications, advanced problem-solving, and innovation in wheel-end sealing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical expert for Scotseal products in wheel-end applications.
  • Lead customer-facing engineering discussions with OEMs, Tier 1s, and fleets.
  • Conduct failure analysis, field investigations, and root cause assessments.
  • Drive product optimization and support new product development with R&D and manufacturing.
  • Deliver technical training and act as a mentor to internal teams.
  • Influence product strategy through deep market and application insights.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities aligned with customer needs.
  • Support technical sales efforts, including proposals, presentations, and value-based selling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in application engineering, with a strong focus on automotive or commercial vehicle systems.
  • Recognized expertise in sealing systems, rotating equipment, and wheel-end technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and customer engagements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%) to customer sites and SKF Automotive locations.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with commercial vehicle OEMs and fleet maintenance operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of SKF Scotseal products or equivalent wheel-end sealing technologies.
