Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
• Develop and present competitive pricing proposals and bids to customers.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools for accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities related to cost and production schedules.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience (3-5+ years) in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their associated costs.
• Advanced proficiency with estimating software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed cost analysis for materials, labor, and overhead.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for cost tracking and material planning.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design review and material take-offs.
• Background in supply chain management or vendor negotiation.
