The Medical ICU Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Critical Care Services. Charge nurses and registered nurses and clinical technicians report to this ICU Nursing Manager. Collaboration spans intensivists and hospitalists, and partnerships include respiratory therapy and ancillary leaders.

The Medical ICU Nurse Manager leads a 20 bed MICU with a connected Progressive Care Unit that bridges ICU and medical surgical care. The team manages cardiogenic shock and heart failure and respiratory failure and neurological conditions. Complex sepsis and liver or renal failure cases benefit from an experienced Critical Care Unit Manager.

The Medical ICU Nurse Manager advances clinical excellence through mentorship and education and competency validation. The role drives quality improvement and shared governance to elevate outcomes and professional practice. Administrative leadership includes budgeting and staffing and scheduling with strong physician relations and regulatory readiness by this Intensive Care Nurse Manager.
