We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-time Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Construction Accounting, Project Cost Accounting, and the Mechanical Contractors Industry or Industrial Construction knowledge. As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, leading the payroll team, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our company's growth and success.

• Financial Management and Reporting:
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and maintain a system of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting to optimize financial performance
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
• Construction Accounting:
  • Implement and maintain construction-specific accounting processes and systems
  • Oversee job costing, including tracking labor, materials, and overhead costs for each project
  • Manage progress billings and ensure timely invoicing of clients
  • Monitor and analyze project profitability, providing insights to management
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking of projects
• Project Cost Accounting:
  • Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with project managers and estimators
  • Implement cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budget
  • Analyze variances between estimated and actual costs, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare and review change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval
  • Generate regular project cost reports for management review
• Industry Financial Management:
  • Apply industry-specific knowledge to financial analysis and decision-making
  • Stay informed about industry trends and their potential financial impacts
  • Assist in pricing strategies for the piping-related projects and service contracts
  • Analyze the financial performance of different product lines and services
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions related to the business unit.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and the corporate controlling team.
  • Develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning
  • Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysis
  • Recommend strategies to improve financial performance and efficiency
