Job Description

This role involves overseeing the building of student housing and a dining hall, managing change orders, negotiating with clients, and ensuring effective cost management. You will be responsible for preconstruction deliverables, developing project strategies, and supporting business sales and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and prepare estimates for projects at all stages, ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain a current costing database with labor and material updates.
• Lead the value-added process for each project.
• Prepare and finalize guaranteed maximum prices.
• Direct and review the work of Estimating Engineers, Conceptual Estimators, and Senior Estimators.
• Drive deadlines and achieve results to ensure client satisfaction during preconstruction.
• Attend sales presentations and market work to existing clients.
• Enforce and support project planning, logistics, and scheduling with other teams.
• Ensure subcontractor involvement for pricing and support operations during subcontractor negotiations.
• Mentor, lead, motivate, and coach staff, focusing on ethics, diversity, quality, development, and safety.
• Manage successful client relationships.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Construction cost management and estimating experience.
• Experience with change orders and cost management on large projects.
• Project Management Experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or Construction Estimating.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to manage and plan work activities, recognizing safety concerns and promoting a safe culture.
• Familiarity with site requirements, tools, methods, and materials related to trade divisions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of risk management as it relates to projects and the company.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
• Strong relationship-building skills with owners, architects, and contractors.
• Ability to lead and work well with project teams and subcontractors.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Procore, BIM, and Microsoft Project.
  
  

Work Environment

Typically 8-5 work hours with a remote option. The work environment supports the use of innovative and cutting-edge technology. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
