Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring instruments including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and other required quality documentation.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to ensure accurate part validation.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances, collaborating with engineering and production for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of measurements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection processes and quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Expertise in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
• Demonstrated experience in performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and generating comprehensive FAI reports (e.g., AS9102 standard).
• Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and relevant industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify non-conformances and ensure product specifications are met.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM programming or advanced operation.
• Advanced understanding and application of GD&T principles.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
• Experience with various optical or vision measurement systems.
