Our experienced wood finishers are a part of the creation in defining high quality craftsmanship. From the attention to detail, and perfect finishes, our entire process is thoroughly managed as we strive to ensure the highest quality of craftsmanship. Each piece throughout the finishing process is executed with a goal to exceed expectations. We do this by demonstrating our excellent organizational skills through our Lean Manufacturing processes. Our Wood Cabinetry Finishers are an essential element in the creation of cabinetry that exceeds the customer vision.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an from professionally gained experiences in the trade or a passionate hobbyist of wood crafting. What we would like from you is the enthusiasm, willingness and professionalism to learn our methods in the creation of each piece of fine cabinetry, including but not limited to the following:

  • A motivated and energetic individual that is looking to further your career while working with a team of finishers, gaining additional knowledge and education of the trade.
  • Must be teachable! Even if you are experienced, everyone stepping into this role must learn our step-by-step methods. You must be able to receive instruction, try hands on, keep improving from the feedback given and then learn our next steps. We want you to show us how you can apply your previous experience with our methods.
  • Understanding that while our processes must be followed to maintain our level of fine cabinetry, we still encourage your feedback as well.
  • Someone that is looking to take their career to the next level of professionalism by always demonstrating positivity with a can-do attitude.
  • You must be adaptable, and receive positive constructive criticism daily.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are highly important.
  • We look for those that can demonstrate: reliability, dependability, and accountability.

What you will do and what is required:

  • You will apply the steps of finishing from sanding, prepping, staining and spraying including dyes, stains, glazes, catalyzed finishes and paints as you work up to custom color matching and specialty finishes.
  • You will read and interpret cabinetry prints and work orders. (blueprints)
  • Brush/spray or hand rub finishing ingredients such as paint, oil, stain or wax
  • fill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections
  • Smooth, shape and touch up surfaces to prepare them for finishing
  • Select appropriate finishing ingredients such as paint, stain
  • Mix finish ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades
  • Distress surfaces with woodworking tools
  • Wash surfaces to prepare them for finish
  • Have effective skills in coordinating timing, as you learn to follow blueprints and organizational processes per job order.
  • Learn to successfully coordinate pieces of cabinetry as they rotate among the areas of the finishing department.
  • Successful candidates will be learning each step of utilizing finishing tools and techniques involving all phases.
