This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of our dealership by ensuring vehicle title work and warranty claims are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all manufacturer, lender, and state regulations. What You'll DoAs our Automotive Title Clerk, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every vehicle transaction is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all state and lender requirements.
ResponsibilitiesProcess title, registration, and licensing paperwork for retail, lease, wholesale, and dealer trade transactions.
Submit DMV paperwork accurately and within required deadlines.
Perfect liens and ensure lender documentation is completed promptly.
Process vehicle payoffs, dealer trades, and wholesale transactions.
Maintain title schedules, title aging reports, and dealership records.
Verify vehicle documentation for completeness and accuracy before processing.
Resolve title discrepancies with customers, financial institutions, auctions, and state agencies.
Coordinate closely with the Sales and Finance & Insurance (F&I) departments to resolve documentation issues.
Maintain compliance with all dealership policies, lender requirements, and state DMV regulations.
Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Previous automotive title clerk experience required.
Dealership experience strongly preferred.
Experience with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, Tekion, Auto/Mate, or similar software preferred.
Strong understanding of state title and registration regulations.
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
The successful candidate will:
Process title work accurately with minimal errors.
Meet all state and lender deadlines.
Maintain organized title records and low title aging.
Communicate proactively with Sales, F&I, lenders, and customers.
Contribute to an efficient and compliant dealership operation.
