Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, MI (Zip: 49048) – Michigan nursing jobs
• Unit: 3N Cardiovascular Unit – Telemetry (54 beds)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; must work 2 out of 3 holidays
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting System: Cerner Powerchart
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890-$1940

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Cardiovascular nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications accepted)
• Experience with Cerner charting required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start modules

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adults and geriatrics with cardiac conditions (heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke, arrhythmias, chest pain, etc.)
• Monitor patients using remote and on-unit telemetry systems
• Administer cardiac drips and vasoactive medications (no titration)
• Perform blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, and wound care
• Interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs; manage cardiac emergencies and respond to rapid response calls
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner Powerchart
