Job Title: Medical Support Assistant| Sheridan, WY



DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
We are seeking Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) to provide scheduling, reception, and administrative support to Veterans in accordance with VA guidelines. MSAs will coordinate patient appointments, manage consults, and ensure exceptional customer service to Veterans, families, and providers.

REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Contractor personnel shall be a resident of the United States of America.
  • Have a High School education or GED equivalent.
  • Oral and written proficiency with English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Access).
  • Type at least 50 WPM.
  • Have no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.
  • Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in similar setting.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with appointment scheduling, medical records, or healthcare support preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule, manage, and coordinate outpatient appointments per VA directives.
  • Validate and update patient demographic information.
  • Process consults and records in VA systems (CPRS, VISTA, HSRM, PPMS).
  • Communicate with Veterans, providers, and community care partners regarding scheduling and services.
  • Respond to phone inquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) daily.
  • Work with the Lead Scheduler to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and excellent patient communication.
  • Provide professional, positive customer service to Veterans, families, and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Clinic Hours: Regular business hours: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm, excluding federal holidays; contractor personnel will work an 8-hour shift within the defined business hours. Set schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.


PRIMARY PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Sheridan, WY 82801

Clearance Level Required : Must be able to pass a Federal Background check. Employment is contingent upon approval of security clearance.
